2016 Code Iowa Recipients
NW STEM Region Recipient – Spirit Lake Elementary School, Spirit Lake
This year’s Code Iowa award recipient from the Northwest Iowa STEM Region is Spirit Lake Elementary School. During Computer Science Education Week, the elementary school “jammed the hall” with more than 500 students starting off their day involved in coding activities. The $3500 award will be used to build a coding resource library for students and teachers to use in preschool through fourth grade.
Additional recipients of the 2016 Code Iowa award include: Humboldt Community School District, Highland Elementary School in Waterloo, Knoxville Community School District, Trio-Center Middle School in Neola and Grant Wood Elementary School in Iowa City.
