In Person Procedures
2021 Iowa Lakes Show/Jazz Choir In-Person Covid Procedures:
General considerations: The safety of students is our utmost priority. All participants, volunteers, directors, clinicians, and students will be wearing masks at all times. Face Shields are not acceptable coverings. No parents or outside audience – performances will be live-streamed. All areas will have a 30-minute air-exchange between groups to allow for aerosols to clear, and for sanitizing of rooms, performance equipment and microphones. No on-site food will be provided. One-way traffic-flow will also be followed for safety.
Arrival & warm-up: Schools will arrive at their scheduled arrival time so there will be no congestion. Schools can unload at our Performing Arts Center loading dock (which is on the Northwest corner of our main campus building) and enter the scene shop, where they will warm-up. Schools will arrive in performance attire, and coat racks will be available for belongings upon entrance. There will be no changing at the school. Only one school will be in each assigned space at a time. Busses/vehicles may park right by the loading dock on 18th Street on the East side of the street.
Performance: students will perform in our brand-new 500-seat Performing Arts Center. 20 microphones, 20 music stands, and a piano will be provided. For safety, schools will bring their own trap sets, amps, etc. if they need them.
Clinic: After the performance, schools will move to the Performing Arts Lobby for a 30-minute clinic.
Audience: At the conclusion of the clinic, schools will enter the audience area of the Performing Arts Center to watch the following group, with students sitting 6-feet apart. Once that group is finished, schools will exit the Lobby doors on the Northwest side of the building, and school vehicles can pick up the students there.
