Biography:

Dana Grafft has worked in the field of surgical technology for over twenty years and continues to be very active in state and national surgical technology professional organizations.  Dana has served as a speaker at state and national conferences, as the President of the Iowa State Assembly of Surgical Technologists (6 years), Chair of the AST National Education Committee, Chair of the AST 6th Edition Core Curriculum for Surgical Technology and was given the Fellow of the Association of Surgical Technologists FAST Award in 2011 ‘to recognize those individuals who have upheld the highest professional, ethical and moral standards and traditions of the surgical technology profession, and whose professional activity has been devoted to the advancement of the profession toward improving the quality of surgical patient care.’ Dana has reviewed and contributed to surgical technology textbooks and is currently co-authoring a surgical procedures textbook for surgical technologists and surgical assistants that will be released in early 2016.
