John P "Jack" Kibbie Outstanding Service Award
The John P “Jack” Kibbie Outstanding Service Award is the most prestigious award given to up to three Iowa Lakes graduating students each academic year to acknowledge their leadership and contributions to community and/ or college service above and beyond the typical student. This annual award honors the significant role Senator Jack Kibbie has bestowed on Iowa’s Community Colleges and Iowa Lakes in particular. Iowa Lakes recognizes these outstanding meritorious students who have been nominated by faculty and staff. They will receive special commendation during an awards ceremony and reception prior to Commencement.
- Demonstrated exceptional leadership and service to community and/or Iowa Lakes Community College.
- Currently enrolled students at Iowa Lakes.
- Completed 45 or more credit hours (sophomore standing) by the end of the fall term.
Any employee may nominate qualified students for the Jack P Kibbie Outstanding Service Award. Nominations may be submitted online using the link to the left. Nominations are due March 30.
Selection of the recipients will be determined by the selection committee. The selection committee will be comprised of Iowa Lakes Board Members and designee(s). This committee is charged with selecting the students who “best exemplify
the spirit of service to community and Iowa Lakes Community College.”
The recipients will be recognized during the annual Summer Commencement ceremony.
