Adult Education & Literacy Program
The Adult Education and Literacy Program (AEL) at Iowa Lakes Community College is a program solely for adult learners who wish to:
- Complete the High School Equivalency Diploma (English and Spanish)
- Improve academic skills to prepare for the workplace or post-secondary education and training
- Improve English listening, reading, speaking and writing skills as non-native speakers
- Prepare for the citizenship exam
To qualify for this free federally-funded program, individuals must be 16 years of age or older, officially withdrawn from high school and meet the qualifying academic skill level in reading and/or math.
AEL classes are located on the campuses of Iowa Lakes Community College at times and sites where need is identified. The next class session will begin October 29 and run through December 13.
