PROGRAM INFORMATION
Iowa Lakes
Community College Educational Talent Search Program offers
many different components, all focused on the students
success in pursing college.
College Bound
All students are part of the
college bound component. ETS advisors will visit with each
ETS students in their respective schools once a month, for
the school year. These structured visits will offer
information on: careers, financial aid, transition to high
school and college, study skills, test taking skills, time
management, self esteem, civic responsibility, making
friends and more. These visits will also be a time to learn
about upcoming campus visits, workshops, and trips designed
to expose the students to many opportunities beyond their
current environment. These visits are re-arranged with the
school administration.
Enrichment Activities

our study labs. Study labs are offered once a week through
the school year at six different locations. This
opportunity provides weekly academic assistance from
certified instructors and college tutors. See our
Study Lab page for location
information.
Success for Sixth
Students in the sixth grade
are encouraged to participate in this after school component
that deals with positive, healthy life choices and valuable
lessons that contribute to good decision making, self-esteem
and getting along with others. This program is offered in
most school in the fall and ends with a fun celebration.

the fifth grade, they are eligible to take part in this fun
event, to introduce students to the Educational Talent
Search program. Each year differs in format and location.
