MENTORING
Study Tables
Peer
Study Tables are held at various times throughout the day
and evening. Study tables are run by students who have
already taken and successfully completed an Iowa Lakes
Community College course and have a faculty recommendation.
ASPIRES participants are welcome to drop-in and take
advantage of this opportunity.

Mentoring
The
ASPIRES Mentoring Community links returning students
(mentors) with first time, full-time students in order to
build connections that will strengthen and enrich both
student experience and success at Iowa Lakes Community
College. Mentors offer weekly meeting times and are
available to answer questions. Topics that a mentor may
cover include:

Transition to college

Study skills, time management and other success skills

Balancing school, work, activities, friends and family
-
Getting and staying connected
-
Choosing a major
Mentors
will hold weekly sessions covering various topics to help
you succeed in college. Students who meet with their mentor
8 times or more are eligible to attend our Spring overnight
trip.
