Water Runs Downhill:
A Journey Through A Time Gone By

By Arne Waldstein

Travel to a time and place in which life was both simpler and more complex:  a time when farm families relied on one another to persevere.  Chapters on immigrating to Iowa, country schools, rural medicine, rural churches, horse-drawn to modern machinery, wildlife, and a collection of happenings, humor, customs, and mores make this a book with something for everyone.

Arne Waldstein was born and raised on a family farm in northwest Iowa, the son of Swedish immigrants. He lived, worked, and played with his parents and seven siblings through the Great Depression and World War II.

After military service in World War II, Arne returned to Iowa and graduated from Iowa State University.

Arne resides with his wife in Waverly, Iowa.

For some, this will be a walk down memory lane; for others, this book will provide an amazing first look into another time and way of life.
