The Conservation Club is designed to provide students with an opportunity to
become involved in community service learning activities through participation
in local volunteer conservation projects.
Currently the club is involved in an extensive
prairie restoration project at Fort Defiance State Park. Other service
learning activities include participation in the Iowa Adopt-A-Highway program,
a tree planting project for the Estherville city park system and various
projects for local county conservation boards and the Iowa Department of
Natural Resources.
Other club activities include picnics, fishing
contests, presentations by guest speakers and campus social events. Typically
the club meets monthly. However, during the fall and spring months, the club
usually meets more frequently.
