An Algona business is featured in this year’s annual report from the Northwest Iowa Small Business Development Center.
Walker Chiropractic & Wellness, PSC, received services from the SBDC which serves 10 counties in northwest Iowa. Because of their overall success in building a business plan as they began serving Swea City and Algona, they were selected to be featured in the report.
“Dr. Rebecca and Jacob came to the SBDC with a meticulous business plan,” said Kelly McCarty, Director of the Northwest Iowa SBDC. “They understood their market and how to best serve their patients in Algona and Swea City.”
Walker Chiropractic provides patients with integrated natural health care which is anchored with chiropractic care provided by Dr. Rebecca and Jacob Walker. Their effort involves a holistic approach to health care by empowering individuals with health education, nutritional support and chiropractic adjustments. This provides patients with overall mental and physical well-being.
They took a similar approach when working with McCarty, taking advantage of the many services available from the SBDC.
“The doctors had done their homework and needed a little assistance from the SBDC to finalize a loan with their bank and with the Kossuth County Revolving Loan Fund,” McCarty said. “It was a rewarding experience to work with young professionals wanting to establish and grow a business in Kossuth County.”
The Walkers opened their clinic in Swea City in August of 2012 and the Algona clinic about a month later.
