Bio:
Julie Williams, Dean of Students at Iowa Lakes Community College has been with the college since 1984. During her years there, she has served as Director of the Iowa Youth Corps program, instructor, advisors, and assistant director of the Upward Bound Program, TRIO Director, Associate Dean of Student Services and Dean of Students. Julie earned her bachelor’s degree in teaching from Mankato State University and Master’s in Higher Education from the University of Iowa. She has been published in the areas of student retention and employee performance evaluations. She served for 5 ½ years on the Iowa Department of Economic Development Board, promoting the creation of high paying jobs for Iowans. She served as the Local Evaluator for the Even Start program at Demoney Elementary in Estherville. Julie has been involved in grant writing and grants start–up, implementation and evaluation throughout her career at Iowa Lakes Community College. Team building and leadership development are two areas she has a great passion for.
