the Loch Run will be held regardless of weather. |

required to mail in your registration fee via regular mail or call with your
credit card information.

Race-Day Registration & Preregistration
Check In: Registration for race day participants and Check In for
pre-registered participants can be done at the Arthur and Audrey Smith
Wellness Center, 3200 College Drive on the east side of Iowa Lakes Community
College, from 7:00-8:15 a.m. T-shirts will be distributed with race packets
and numbers at that time. Extra T-shirts will be available for purchase.
Walk-in registration is $30 from
noon March 13th through the day of the race - so register
early!!!!

Start & Finish:
All races will start and
finish at the Smith Wellness Center. The 13.1 mile race and 13.1 mile runners will begin the
race at 8:30 am. The 10K race will begin at 8:40 am. The 5K runners will
begin at 9:00 am and the 1.7 fun/run walk will start at
9:10 am. |

|
Half Marathon (13.1 Mile): Four runners to a
team, each running approximately 3.275 miles of the 13.1 mile race. The runners will
pass a baton to a fellow team member at designated water stations along the
route. All four runners register under one team name they choose. There is
no age or gender category for this event. Please list on registration form
the order your team members will run. (1st quarter, 2nd quarter, 3rd and
anchor). Teams may consist of mixed ages and combine male and female
runners.

|
Smith Wellness Center: All
race participants will be given a FREE day pass to the facility the day of
the race.
The Emmetsburg Public Library
will be open the day of the Race. (Located across from the Wellness Center.)
|
|
|
|
Course: All
races are around or in the vicinity of Five Island Lake.
|
|
|
|
Food: Fresh fruit and bagels will
be available to every participant.
|
|
|
|
Aid Stations: Water
stations are provided for the 1/2 marathon race at the 1/2 marathon relay
hand-offs and along the course of the 10K and 5K and at the
Wellness Center.
|
|
|
|
Shower & Toilet Facilities:
All facilities are available at the Arthur and Audrey
Smith Wellness Center. A Port-a-Potty will be
located at an intersection close to the half way point
of the 1/2 Marathon and 1/2 Marathon relay. |
|
|
|
Awards Ceremony: The
Awards Ceremony starts at approximately 11 a.m. at the Arthur and Audrey
Smith Wellness Center Gymnasium.
Trophies will be awarded to
the overall men’s and women’s 1.7 Mile Fun Run/Walk, 5K, 10K, and 1/2 marathon race.
1/2 marathon relay overall winners will receive trophies. Medals
will be awarded for first place, second place and third place finishers in
each age division—13 & under, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49,
50-59 & 60 and over.

Weekend Fun: This
is the weekend of the annual St. Patrick’s celebration in Emmetsburg
featuring Dignitaries from Ireland. Friday activities: Ceili Fun Night;
Saturday activities: Lad and Lassie Talent Program, Irish Stew Dinner, Irish
Tea, Parade, Banquet and Dance; Sunday activities: Irish Mass. For more

Then join us again
on June 27, 2009, for “Bob
McCartan Memorial Scholarship Sprint Tri-Athlon” Test your
stamina in our 7th year of the event. Swim 500 yards in Five Island Lake, bike 12 miles
around the area followed by a 5K run. Stay and enjoy a day of fun activities
around our beautiful lake. Please contact us by May 1 for
more information.
