Event Management (EVP)

EVP-100 Audio/Visual Systems, 2 cr.
Provides the knowledge and skills necessary to assemble, arrange, and operate small- and large-scale audio/visual systems and equipment.
                                                                       
EVP-101 Site Selection, 2 cr.
Examines site-selection strategies and techniques, including factors relating to location, travel, weather, financial resources, unions, and politics.
 
EVP-102 Special Events, 2 cr.
Examines the planning process governing special events, with emphasis on site logistics, planning processes, and vendors.
 
EVP-103 Wedding Planning, 2 cr.
Provides the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully plan, design, and implement weddings.
 
EVP-104 Catering, 2 cr.
Provides the knowledge and skills necessary to provide catering services, with a special emphasis on food and beverage needs assessment, menu creation, and quality and cost management.
 
EVP-105 Intermediate Practicum, 1 cr.
On-the-job experience in the event planning industry, with an emphasis on intermediate skills required of event planners.
 
EVP-106 Fundraising Events, 2cr.
Provides the knowledge and skills necessary to create, plan, and implement fundraising and non-profits events, with a special emphasis on sponsors, volunteers, committees, and recruiting.
 
EVP-107 Travel and Transportation, 2cr.
Examines strategies and techniques used to coordinate travel and transportation of individuals and groups to and from events, and explores issues of travel and transportation in both urban and rural environments.
 
EVP-108 Capstone Project, 1cr.
Students will be expected to create and defend a comprehensive plan that details the creation, planning, and execution of an event.
 
EVP-109 Capstone Practicum, 1cr.
On-the-job experience in the event planning industry, with an emphasis on advanced skills required of event planners. Students will be expected to apply knowledge and skills from the entire program.
 
EVP-110 Introductory Practicum, 1 cr.
On-the-job experience in the event planning industry, with an emphasis on introductory, fundamental skills required of event planners.
 
EVP-111 Fundamentals of Event Planning, 3 cr.
Provides an overview of the event planning industry, and emphasizes the core skills required in order to create, plan, and implement a professional event.
