Students have the opportunity to complete an Associate in Arts degree or an Associate in Science Degree through the Evening & Weekend College Credit Program at Iowa Lakes Community College. These classes are offered Fall, Spring, and Summer terms.

A student can enroll in college credit classes held during the day, evening, or weekend at any of Iowa Lakes' sites in any combination to complete a degree.  Degree programs are offered at all Iowa Lakes campuses and centers: Emmetsburg, Estherville, Algona, Spencer, Spirit Lake.

Each semester Iowa Lakes offers several college credit courses at these locations. Most courses meet for three hours one evening a week during the semester. 

Weekend College classes are offered on Saturdays at all sites. Classes meet on Saturday during the semester with some dates identified as optional attendance days. On these days you are involved in independent learning activities outside the center.

TRANSFERRING

Students can transfer to Briar Cliff College or Buena Vista University or University of Iowa to complete a Baccalaureate Degree at the Iowa Lakes Community College sites after completing an Associate of Arts Degree at Iowa Lakes. These degree programs are also offered during the evenings or weekends.

Students interested in receiving their BSN degree in Nursing can complete their Baccalaureate Degree from the University of Iowa at the Emmetsburg and Spencer campuses.

Students can also transfer to most of the other accredited colleges and universities across the United States. Our students who transfer to other places have a proven record of doing well at those institutions.
