Students in the Human Services and Disability Club traveled in November of 2004 to Des Moines. They delivered several boxes of personal care items and clothing which were donated by area residents to the Youth Emergency Services and Shelter. Students going on the trip included: (kneeling) Desirae Kerr; (standing from left) Anna Sanderson, Pam Anderson, Heidi Nau, Instructor Amy Ver Mulm, Jessica Byriel, Beckie Holmes, Laura Presthus, Amber Abbenhaus, Holly Goldtrap, Megan Klemm, Lavonne Lotz, Katie Stewart, Toni Kinnetz and Malloree Lockwood.
Those taking the field trip stopped for a moment to have a group picture taken on the steps of the Youth Emergency Services and Shelter in Des Moines. The shelter’s goal is to work with teens to provide a safe and temporary place to live while providing supportive services such as school, life skills programs and employment opportunities.
