This is the only motorcycle program in the state of Iowa. The Motorcycle and Small Engine Technology program is designed to prepare you for employment in the recreational and motorcycle industries.  Your instruction will include a combination of theory and laboratory experience on the latest equipment.  You will be instructed on both American and foreign motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, snowmobiles, personal watercraft and small engines.

Employment opportunities after graduation may include dealership technician, service manager, parts, sales, business owner, and performance shop technician.  Starting salaries range from $15,000 to $30,000.

Today's technicians need: increasingly good mechanical aptitude; the ability to read and comprehend service literature; the ability to understand and perform a variety of increasingly technical diagnostic procedures; and the ability to work with fellow employees and, most of all, customers.

There is now a Joint Industrial Technology Business Strand offered with an emphasis in business management and entrepreneurship.  After completion of a second year of general education and business courses, an Associate in Applied Science in Technology degree is awarded.
