Students gain experience of running a sod cutter	Students practice the proper technique of keeping seams tight when laying sod	Students learn to lay sod in Landscape & Installation class

Making sure the base layer is level is very important when building retaining walls	A retaining wall was built around a sign on campus as part of a lab project	Students are putting the final block on the retaining wall


Digging a trench is needed to begin building a retaining wall	Putting a base layer under the retaining wall helps to keep the wall level	Students are packing the base layer of limestone


Shrubs and perennials are planted around the 4-Plex	Students learn how to identify trees and shrubs for Plant Material class	Watering is very important after new plants are planted


Students place pegs into the 1st layer before adding the next row	The class of 2004 took a trip to the Minneapolis Arboretum	Students gain experience putting weed barrier around plants


Rock is installed by students around the 4-Plex	What a difference rock makes around plants	Class of 2004 landscaped around the 4-Plex on the Emmetsburg campus
