IOWA LAKES SOFTBALL HITTING CAMP
UPDATE
The late session for the Iowa Lakes
Hitting camp has been filled, but
there still remains room at the noon
and 1:45 sessions. The camp will be
held on three successive Sundays
(Sunday, Jan. 21, Sunday, Jan. 28
and Sunday, Feb. 4). There will be
three sessions, one beginning at
noon, one at 1:45 p.m. and one at
3:30 p.m. (again that one has been
filled). Also, the date of Saturday,
Feb. 17 has been set aside for the
Iowa Lakes Middle School softball
camp (look for more information
coming out next week).

PLANNED
Area high school show choirs and
jazz choirs will participate in the
2007 Iowa Lakes Show Choir Festival
on Monday, Jan. 22, and Tuesday,
Jan. 23. Twenty-seven choirs from 19
schools will be performing for
clinicians Dr. Kurt Runestad from
Doane College, and Clay Blackman
from Omaha.

2007 JAZZ BAND CONTEST SCHEDULED
The Iowa Lakes Community College
Music Department will host its 32nd
Annual Jazz Band Contest on Jan. 16,
17 and 18. Class 1A will be
competing on Tuesday, Jan. 16,
Classes 3A & 4A will be competing on
Wednesday, Jan. 17, and Class 2A
will be competing on Thursday, Jan.
18. A total of 36 schools will be
competing for the top three places
in each class.
