DAMN YANKEES – STARTING LINEUP
ANNOUNCED
“Damn Yankees,” the endearing
musical comedy about America’s
beloved pastime of baseball, will
hit the field March 30, 31 and April
1, presented by the Iowa Lakes
Community College music department
and the surrounding communities. The
play gives a new twist to the
‘legend of Faust’ when middle-aged
baseball fan Joe Boyd sells his soul
to the Devil, in the person of Mr.
Applegate, and in exchange is
transformed into a youthful baseball
player on his favorite team, the
Washington Senators. The original
production hit a grand slam with a
record 1,019 performances on
Broadway and had a successful
revival in 1994, which won several
Tony awards.
