DAMN YANKEES – STARTING LINEUP ANNOUNCED
“Damn Yankees,” the endearing musical comedy about America’s beloved pastime of baseball, will hit the field March 30, 31 and April 1, presented by the Iowa Lakes Community College music department and the surrounding communities. The play gives a new twist to the ‘legend of Faust’ when middle-aged baseball fan Joe Boyd sells his soul to the Devil, in the person of Mr. Applegate, and in exchange is transformed into a youthful baseball player on his favorite team, the Washington Senators. The original production hit a grand slam with a record 1,019 performances on Broadway and had a successful revival in 1994, which won several Tony awards.

The Iowa Lakes Community College Alumni & Friends Association in cooperation with the Institutional Advancement Office is hosting an Estherville Campus Reunion on Saturday, February 25. It has been a number of years since any type of reunion has been offered at the college. The Alumni & Friends Association and the Institutional Advancement Office hope to bring the reunion tradition back for alumni and friends of Iowa Lakes Community College.

Iowa Lakes’ employees and alumni, community businesses and individuals annually donate to the program for the betterment of the college and its students through scholarships or improvement in programs.

The annual meeting of the Iowa Lakes Community College Foundation was held January 23 at the Spencer Campus. Foundation Directors enjoyed a tour of the facility by Campus Dean Kitty Conover. Highlights of the tour included the updated Surgical Technology, Medical Assistant and Massage Therapy classrooms, new college bookstore and commons area.
