IOWA LAKES JAZZ CONTEST 2005 PLANNED
Iowa Lakes Community College will host its 31st Annual Jazz Band Contest, Tuesday Jan. 25 – Thursday, Jan. 27. Forty-six bands from 41schools will compete for the top three places in each of five divisions.

Iowa Lakes Community College has awarded the 2004-05 Alliant Energy Foundation Scholarship to recipient Matthew Spies of Spirit Lake. This scholarship was established by the Alliant Energy Foundation in 2004.

On Thursday, January 20, and Friday, January 21, 23 area high school show choirs and jazz choirs will participate in the 2005 Iowa Lakes Show Choir Festival. The show choirs will perform and receive comments from clinician, Kurt Runestad.

Arts on Grand will be hosting a Monkey Wrench Quilt Exhibit from Jan. 25-Mar. 6. Through the centuries and especially in recent decades, individual expression and innovation have been fundamental to quilting.

PALO ALTO COUNTY CORN & SOYBEAN GROWERS ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIPS ANNOUNCED
Iowa Lakes Community College has announced the recipients of scholarships that are available from the Palo Alto County Corn & Soybean Growers Association. To be eligible for one of the scholarships, the recipient, their parent or grandparent must be a member of the Association. Deadline for these scholarship applications is April 1, 2005.

IOWA LAKES TO HOLD 6TH ANNUAL HITTING CLINIC
Iowa Lakes Community College Head Softball Coach Mike Bosch has announced the dates for the sixth annual instructional hitting league. The camp will be held on three successive Sundays (Sunday, Jan. 23; Sunday, Jan. 30; and, Sunday, Feb. 6). There will be three sessions, one beginning at noon, one at 2 p.m. and one at 4 p.m.

IOWA LAKES TO HOLD MIDDLE SCHOOL SOFTBALL CAMP
Iowa Lakes Community College Head Softball Coach Mike Bosch has announced the dates for the Middle School Softball Camp. The all day camp will be held on three different Saturdays (Saturday, Feb. 5; Saturday, Feb. 12; and, Saturday, March 12). Each date will be limited to the first 20 players for quality instruction purposes.
