COMMUNITY COLLEGES RECEIVE TITLE III GRANT TO IMPROVE ONLINE TEACHING AND SERVICES
Seven Iowa community colleges have been notified they’ll share nearly $1.5 million in Title III grant funds to improve online teaching and services to online students.

Iowa Lakes Community College students who are members of the Business Professionals of America club in Spencer will host an informational meeting for students, staff, and any interested community people on issues that will come before the voters in November.

IOWA LAKES STUDENT INTERNS AT KIOW-FM
An Iowa Lakes Community College student majoring in Broadcast Media has interned with KIOW-FM, Forest City. Chris Grell, Clear Lake, worked at 107.3 KIOW-FM, with duties including an on air afternoon/evening shift, news writing and reading.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE STUDENTS ASSIST IN DRIVE TO HELP PROVIDE CELL PHONES TO SENIOR CITIZENS
Students in the Criminal Justice program at Iowa Lakes Community College are working with the Emmet County Sheriff's Department to enhance the safety of senior citizens by providing them with used cell phones.

Nancy Parliman Schoenewe, Professor of English at Iowa Lakes Community College, has been selected for inclusion in the 2004 edition of "Who's Who Among America's Teachers."

The date has been set for the 2004 Italian Buffet at the Emmetsburg Campus of Iowa Lakes Community College. Organizers will hold the popular event on Monday, Oct. 18.

IOWA LAKES COMMUNITY COLLEGE TO HOST SCHOLARSHIP GOLF OUTING AT SPRING VALLEY GOLF COURSE
Area golfers will want to attend the final Iowa Lakes Community College Scholarship Golf Outing on Sept. 23 at Spring Valley Golf Course of rural Livermore.  Proceeds from the event will fund scholarships for Kossuth County residents attending Iowa Lakes Community College.

Another increase in enrollment has been experienced at Iowa Lakes Community College.  This becomes the tenth consecutive fall term for an enrollment record.
