Students involved with Iowa Lakes Community College
Educational Talent Search program traveled to Cedar Falls
for a campus visit of UNI on April 10. Seven area schools
with 27 students attended the activity.

BRING TREES TO NEW SPORTS PARK
Partnership was the key word as the City of Estherville,
Iowa Lakes Community College, North Star Bank and Agency,
and Max O. Pelzer were involved in the gifting and
re-location of multiple trees to enhance the new sports park
in southeast Estherville.

COMMUNITY COLLEGE TO HOST 2003 REGION XI GOLF TOURNAMENT IN
SPENCER
In just over two weeks, the 2003 Region XI golf tournament
will be held at the Spencer Golf and Country Club. Iowa
Lakes Community College will host the tourney which is the
qualifying tournament for the Division II Junior College
nationals.

WINNERS ANNOUNCED
FOR STATEWIDE SkillsUSA-VICA COMPETITION AT IOWA LAKES
EMMETSBURG – More than 150 awards were handed out
Thursday evening at the Iowa SkillsUSA-VICA State Leadership
& Skills Conference held at Iowa Lakes Community College.
Students received 67 Gold medals, 54 Silver and 37 Bronze
medals at the evening ceremony.

WORKSHOPS PLANNED
The Internet is a
wonderful thing, but it is also full of material that is not
appropriate for children. Parents and other responsible
adults are encouraged to begin taking steps to protect
children from potential internet dangers. One of the Family
Workshop sessions on Tuesday, April 8, will address this
concern.
