IOWA LAKES COMMUNITY COLLEGE TO HOST
ELLSWORTH COMMUNITY COLLEGE
Iowa Lakes Community College is hosting
Ellsworth Community College in a women’s and
men’s basketball doubleheader Wednesday,
January 13th at the Iowa Lakes gymnasium in
Estherville. The women’s game begins at
5:30 p.m. followed by the men at 7:30 p.m.
The Laker women are currently 5 – 8 on the
season and 0-2 in the Iowa Community College
Athletic Conference. They are led in
scoring by Shannon Heard, who averages 15
points per game, and BreeAnn Hageman, who
averages 10 points per game. Ellsworth is 6
– 9 on the year and 1-1 in the Iowa
Community College Athletic Conference.
The Laker men, who were the preseason ranked
#1 team in the country, are currently 10 – 3
on the season and 1 – 0 in the Iowa
Community College Athletic Conference after
a recent 60 – 48 win at Iowa Central.The
Lakers are lead by preseason All Americans
Robert Burns and Armon Boston. The Lakers
are averaging 86 points per game.
Ellsworth is 2 – 0 in the Iowa Community
College Athletic Conference. They are lead
in scoring by L.C. Doss who is the leading
scorer in the conference at 20 points per
game. This is the first home game for the
Laker men since November 30th (a span of 44
days).
“We are very excited about finally being at
home after being on the road the entire
month of December. Ellsworth is very
talented team. Our guys are looking forward
to the challenge. This has been a very
entertaining match-up the last couple of
years,” said Lakers Head Coach Troy Larson.
Admission is $5 for adults. K-12 students
