IOWA LAKES WRESTLING SIGNS THREE

Iowa Lakes Community College’s newly formed wrestling program has signed Marcus Blue, Timothy Thurston and DaVaughn Perkins to NJCAA national letters of intent in preparation of the college’s first official season this fall.

Blue, from High Point, N.C., is a two-time state champion and has a career 157-15 record. He will look to wrestle in the 157 pound weight class for the Lakers.

Thurston is also from High Point, and has a 112-14 career record. He became the state champion in the 119 pound division his senior year. He will look to move up and wrestle in the 125 pound weight class at Iowa Lakes.

Perkins is from Omaha, Neb., and is a high school all-American and a three-time state champion. He has a career record of 86-0 and he will look to wrestle somewhere around the 149 pound weight class for Iowa Lakes. He was the 2008 NJCAA National Champion at 157.
