CORNELIUS VINES COMMITS TO HOFSTRA
After playing two seasons for Iowa Lakes
Community College, Cornelius Vines has
decided to continue his basketball and
academic career at Hofstra University in
Hempstead, New York.
Vines, a 6’2” guard from Syracuse, New York,
had a very productive career. He averaged
17.6 points, four rebounds and three assists
in two seasons for the Lakers. He led Iowa
Lakes to a 21-10 overall record and a 9 - 5
record in regional play this season. At the
conclusion of the season, Corn was named and
NJCAA 3rd team All American as well as
being named 1st team All Iowa Community
College Athletic Conference.
“Cornelius had a very productive two years
at Iowa Lakes. He is a very talented
basketball player,” said Coach Troy Larson.
“If he works hard and continues to improve
he should be able to contribute at the
Division I level.”
At Hofstra, Vines will play for Coach Tom
Pecora and will look to make an impact in
the Colonial Athletic Association at the
NCAA Division I level.
