ELEVEN LAKER WOMEN NAMED TO ALL-REGION TEAM
Two days after capturing the Region XI title and
a berth at the NJCAA National Tournament, the
ICCAC All Region teams have been announced, and
Iowa Lakes had a record 11 players honored.
Players named to the first team were sophomore
pitcher Aly Bowers, sophomore outfielder Kimmie
White, sophomore outfielder Brittany Brohmer,
freshmen catcher Aly Cloud and freshman
infielder Stephanie Ochoa.
Players named to the second team were freshmen
third baseman Camiel Salcedo, freshman shortstop
Kristina Manser, freshman pitcher Lauren Smith
and freshman outfielder Andrea Hacker.
Receiving honorable mention recognition were
freshmen Jamie Sorensen and Michelle McKenna.
Bowers, of Norfolk, Neb., is currently 31-7 on
the mound and has 52 career wins at Iowa Lakes,
which places her second all-time. Her 391 career
strike outs also rank her second all-time and
she looks to become the third two-time
All-American in school history behind Erin Jones
and Sam Rohr. The Bellevue recruit is also a
two-time All-Region XI selection and 2007 NFCA
All-American.
White, of Burbank, Calif., also looks to become
a two-time All-American later this month after
breaking numerous records at Iowa Lakes. White
will leave Iowa Lakes as the all-time leader in
hits (188), doubles (45) and is third in RBIs
(121). The Tennessee Tech recruit has been a
constant in the middle of the Iowa Lakes lineup
for the last two seasons.
Brohmer, of LaCrosse, Wisc., stepped up and had
one of the most prolific seasons in college
history. The Upper Iowa recruit broke the single
season record for home runs (currently 20) and
slugging percentage (.943). She is currently
batting .466 with 69 RBIs.
Ochoa, of Stanton, Calif., leads the team in
hits (101), doubles (30) and runs (72). The hard
hitting first baseman has quickly established
herself as one of the top hitters in Division II
softball.
Cloud, of San Bernadino, Calif., batted .420 in
ICCAC play and was a staple behind the plate for
the Laker women.
Smith, of New Ulm, Minn., is currently 19-3 on
the mound for the Lakers and has posted wins
over every Region XI team.
Salcedo, of Placentia, Calif., is third on the
team with 86 hits and 70 runs and has broken the
single season record for at bats (215) from the
lead off position.
Manser, of Granda Hills, Calif., tore through
the Region XI tournament and came up with a very
pivotal grand slam in the title game. For the
season, Manser is batting .381 with 68 RBIs
Hacker, of Spokane, Wash., leads Iowa Lakes with
19 stolen bases and batted .364 while playing
centerfield most of this season.

in batting with a .423 average, and has been the
designated hitter the later half of this season.

catching and third base and is batting .305 with
15 doubles.
Iowa Lakes is currently 54-11, which is three
shy of the college record for wins, and will
