COLLEGE EXECUTIVE NAMED TO NATIONAL BOARD

An Iowa Lakes Community College administrator has been invited to serve on a prestigious national board.

Mary Larscheid, Executive Dean of the Estherville campus, recently joined the Chair Academy’s International Practitioners Board for Leadership and Development. The 21-member board includes a wide range of educators from across the country.

This group initiates and oversees leadership training for postsecondary educators at midlevel manager positions.

Maricopa Community Colleges recognized the need for this training. They were determined to identify and support resources and skills needed to lead their departments effectively – and chose to expand the learning opportunities to other colleges.

The cadre of program facilitators has grown over the years to 26. They are chosen for their knowledge and skill in facilitating educational sessions and for their ongoing commitment to best practices in leadership on their own campuses.
