FAST TRACKS CLASSES OFFERED THIS SUMMER AT IOWA LAKES

Students are still able to register for summer fast track classes at all of the Iowa Lakes Community College campuses. Courses range from Marriage and Family to Composition.

Classes that are offered this summer at the college include: Computer Familiarization at the Algona Campus. The class will meet Monday, Tuesday and Thursday Aug. 12 - 21, from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. This class is also offered in Emmetsburg Aug. 11 - 14, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

In Spirit Lake, Computer Familiarization will meet four days, Aug. 14, 15, 18 and 19 from 8 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Fundamental of Oral Communication will be offered at Algona and Spirit Lake. In Algona the class will meet Monday – Thursday, July 14-24 from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. In Spirit Lake the class will meet July 28, 29, Aug. 1 and 2 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Aug. 5 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Aug. 8 and 13 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Music Appreciation will be offered in Spirit Lake from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. July 30 through Aug. 9.

Marriage and Family will be held at Spencer and Spirit Lake. In Spencer, the course is a hybrid class. It meets Friday noon to 5 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. June 20, 21, 27, and 28. In Spirit Lake, the class will meet from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. July 14-19.

Successful Learning will be offer in Algona, Aug. 11-14 from 8 a.m. to noon. The class also meets in Spirit Lake, 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Aug. 18 - 20 and Aug. 22.

Composition One will be held in Spirit Lake. The class will meet Monday through Friday, July 28 -Aug. 8 from 8 a.m. -12:30 p.m. Introduction to Ethics will also be offered in Spirit Lake July 21-26 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Spirit Lake campus.

In Spencer, Minority Group Relations, will be offered June 2 -7 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

A Math Refresher, class will be held Aug. 12-14 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Emmetsburg campus.

A new fast track class that will be offered at the Estherville campus is Intro to Photography. It will meet July 7 – July 18 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday through Thursday with lab being held on Friday from 8 to noon.

Social Problems, meets the Social Science requirement for graduation and will be taught from June 20 - June 27 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This class will meet on Friday, Saturday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday on the Estherville campus.

Also, registration is now open for second term summer classes which begin Tuesday, June 24.

Students enrolled at Iowa Lakes Community College may register for any of these classes through Web Advisor or call any Iowa Lakes campus.

New students should first apply for admission through the Iowa Lakes Web site, www.iowalakes.edu. Then they may stop by or call any Iowa Lakes campus.

Summer office hours at Iowa Lakes are 7:30-5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7:30 – noon on Friday.
