BLUE WATER ALTERNATIVE HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION

Ceremonies honoring 20 Blue Water Alternative High School graduates were held at the Spirit Lake Campus of Iowa Lakes Community College on Friday, May 23.

Graduating seniors included 14 students from Spirit Lake, four from Okoboji, and two from Harris-Lake Park. Superintendent Douglas Latham, Spirit Lake; Superintendent Robert Miller, Okoboji; and Superintendent Dennis Peters, Harris-Lake Park; presented diplomas to students from their districts. Each graduate received a $500 scholarship from Iowa Lakes Community College.

Blue Water Alternative High School is a credit-recovery program serving high school students in Dickinson County. Bonnie Ewoldt is the Lead Instructor with staff including DeLyte Ebbers, Julia Leupold and Erika Leupold.

In addition to Blue Water, Iowa Lakes Community College also operates alternative programs in Estherville and Emmetsburg. A combined total of 37 seniors completed their high school diplomas through these programs this school year.
