LAKER SOFTBALL COACHES EARN COACHING
STAFF OF THE YEAR HONORS
The Iowa Lakes softball coaching staff has
been named the NJCAA Division II National
Coaching Staff of the Year by the National
Fastpitch Coaches Association.
“This is an extraordinary honor,” said Head
Coach Mike Bosch. “The first thing I did
when I got the news was to thank the
players, parents and travel ball coaches.
They make our job easier and without
them what we have accomplished would not be
possible. I feel we have put together a
program that produces successful student
athletes and that a player can step on
campus on day one and leave a better player
and person when they graduate.”
Along with Bosch, Assistant Coach Megan
Anderson led the Lakers to the NJCAA
Division II Region XI Championship and a
fifth-place finish at nationals in Normal,
Ill. Iowa Lakes finished the season with a
56-13 record.
Athletics Director Troy Larson was very
adamant about the importance of the honor as
well.
“This is a well deserved honor for Mike and
his staff,” Larson said. “The team had an
outstanding year as a result of all of their
hard work. Mike is a tireless recruiter and
an excellent head coach. He is a tremendous
asset to Iowa Lakes. We are looking forward
to another outstanding season next spring.”
