SKYJACK MANUFACTURING SCHOLARSHIP ESTABLISHED AT IOWA LAKES

Iowa Lakes Community College is announcing the establishment of the Skyjack Manufacturing Scholarship.

Skyjack Manufacturing of Emmetsburg, a world leader in the design and manufacture of mobile scissor lifts, joined the Iowa Lakes Community College President’s Circle of giving this past spring.  As a result of this partnership with Iowa Lakes, Skyjack is establishing this scholarship to support students pursuing a two-year Associate in Applied Science degree in welding.

“It’s wonderful to see support from businesses in our communities, such as Skyjack, who are committed to students in our area.” stated Shan Ray, Iowa Lakes Institutional Advancement Executive Director.  She continued, “Providing assistance for students to complete not only a diploma but a degree shows how much Skyjack believes in our students.”

Eligible candidates for the Skyjack Manufacturing Scholarship must be enrolled full time in the Welding program at Iowa Lakes Community College with a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA.  In addition, they must reside in Clay, Dickinson, Emmet, Kossuth, Palo Alto or Pocahontas county and display financial need as determined by the FAFSA form results.  Recipients must use the award for tuition and fees.

Application deadline for the Skyjack Manufacturing Scholarship is September 15, 2008.

Those interested in more information on this scholarship or the Iowa Lakes President’s Circle should contact Shan Ray, Iowa Lakes Institutional Advancement Executive Director, at 712-362-0491 or 800-242-5106 ext. 4491.
