ESTHERVILLE CAMPUS STUDENT SENATE
PRESIDENT SELECTED
An Iowa Lakes Community College sophomore
has been elected to serve as President of
the Estherville Campus of Iowa Lakes for the
2008-2009 college years.
Candice Rebstock, Franklin, Minn., is a
Journalism and Photography major. She was
involved in the Student Senate during the
2007-2008 year.
Rebstock’s goals for the Student Senate
during the 2008-2009 year are to try to get
more student involvement by sharing Student
Senate and college information at summer
orientations as well as the day before class
begins.
Rebstock wants students to know there are
many opportunities for them. “To get the
new students pumped up, to let them know
that they can accomplish many things at Iowa
Lakes,” Rebstock said. “Just because it's a
community college, doesn't mean they can't
achieve great things.”
She also wants to have more student
activities, and to find things to do on the
weekends so the students that stay have more
options. She would also like to work with
other campuses on community service
activities and social activities within the
student body.
Student senators plan campus activities
throughout the year; participate in a
Leadership Conference; and travel to Des
Moines with other community college student
leaders to learn about legislative
processes.
Candice Rebstock will be President of the
Estherville Student Senate during the
2008-2009 college year.
