IOWA LAKES FOUNDATION LAUNCHES ANNUAL GIVING PROGRAM

The Iowa Lakes Community College Foundation will launch the community portion of their annual giving program entitled “We Believe In Us” soon.  This initiative is the main fundraiser of the Foundation that benefits students with scholarships, programs with improvements and addresses other areas of need at the college.

This endeavor is conducted in two phases. 

In October 2006 phase one was launched as Iowa Lakes employees were asked for their support.  The employees responded with 89 percent participation of full-time and 66 percent participation of part-time employees resulting in over $56,400 raised. 

Executive Director of Institutional Advancement Shan Ray stated, “The Foundation could not be more pleased to again have Iowa Lakes Community College employees demonstrate their belief in the college and its students through monetarily supporting the annual giving program.”

Phase two of the program involves contacting community partners asking them once again to believe in what Iowa Lakes Community College is accomplishing for students and communities.  Volunteers will be canvassing some of the college’s five county area communities to collect gifts and pledges; other communities will be contacted by direct mail.
