MASSAGE THERAPIST JOINS PROFESSIONALS AT WELLNESS CENTER
A massage
therapist has joined the health professionals at the
Smith Wellness Center in Emmetsburg.
Valarie
Wegener began work just prior to the holidays and will
begin offering massages in early February.
“In
recent years, massage therapy has become an integral
part of many people’s health routine,” said Deb Knight
of the Smith Wellness Center. “It has proven itself to
be a beneficial stress reliever.”
Wegener
is a 2007 graduate of the Massage Therapy program of
Iowa Lakes Community College. She is Nationally
Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. She holds
an Iowa license in both Massage and Bodywork and is a
member of the ABMP Associated Bodywork and Massage
Professionals.
In
addition, Wegener holds a Personal Training
certification through NESTA, the National Exercise and
Sport Trainers Association.
She joins
Personal Trainer Brenda McAllister, who has worked at
the Smith Wellness Center since it opened, gaining her
Personal Trainer certification in March of 2006.

The
Arthur and Audrey Smith Wellness Center is located on
the Emmetsburg Campus of Iowa Lakes Community College.
