LANDSCAPE AND TURFGRASS STUDENT RECEIVES SCHOLARSHIP FROM IOWA TURFGRASS INSTITUTE

A student in the Landscape and Turfgrass Technician Program at Iowa Lakes Community College has received word that he has received a scholarship from the Iowa Turfgrass Institute.

Rod Alger, Estherville, will travel to Ames in January to receive the $500 Syngenta Scholarship during the Iowa Turfgrass Conference. The money can be used for tuition, books or fees to continue his education.

The Landscape and Turfgrass Technician program is a diploma program covering three semesters. The last 10 weeks of the spring semester, students are at an on-the-job training at a business of their choice.
