Iowa Lakes finished the regular season with a 20-9 record and have the 4th seed in the tournament by virtue of their 9-5 record in regional play.  The Lakers will meet the Southwestern Spartans at 6 p.m. on Saturday.  Southwestern enters post-season play with a 17-12 record, 6-8 in region play.

“We are thrilled about hosting the regional tournament,” says Athletics Director and head men’s basketball coach Troy Larson.  “It’s a great opportunity for fans from northwest Iowa to see great college basketball.  We are hoping for a great turnout.”

The tournament’s first game of the day is at 12 noon Saturday.  It will feature the third-seeded Ellsworth Panthers, 10-4 in region play, against the sixth seeded Iowa Central which is 5-9 in region play.  At 2 p.m., second seed Des Moines Area Community College, 11-3 in the region, will meet North Iowa Area Community College, 3-11 in the region.  At 4 p.m., the number one seeded Kirkwood Eagles, 12-2 in region play, will take on the eighth seeded Clinton Cougars, 0-14.
