KOKESH TO WRESTLE AT NATIONAL TOURNEY  

Richard Kokesh has advanced to the NJCAA National Wrestling Championships by placing 4th at the North District Tournament in Willmar, Minn. on Sunday, Feb. 10.  Kokesh is wrestling “independently” since the Iowa Lakes team still has a few months until they are official.

Kokesh, a freshman from Wagner, S.D., is enrolled in the Construction Technology program on the Emmetsburg campus.  

Wrestling in the 197 lb. weight class, with a current record of 16-14, Kokesh won his quarter final and consolation semifinal round at the North District Tournament.

Kokesh will wrestle Chad Friend from Muskegon Community College in the first round of the NJCAA National Wrestling Tournament on Friday, February 22, at 10 a.m. in Rochester, Minn.   

Richard Kokesh is participating in these events as an individual. Starting in the fall semester of 2008, Iowa Lakes Community College will have a wrestling team, coached by Jason McCloud.
