ACADEMIC DECATHLON WINNERS ANNOUNCED

Students from four area high schools competed in the Area III Academic Decathlon in early February at the Emmetsburg Campus of Iowa Lakes Community College.

Teams competing included Southern Cal, Algona, Hull Western Christian and Spirit Lake.

Individuals participated in speech, interview, music, art, social science, math, economics and language arts.

Teams advancing to state competition will be Southern Cal, Hull Western Christian and Algona.

High point individual winners were Lee Henely in the Honors Division from Southern Cal High School; Julia Collison in the Scholastic Division from Southern Cal High School; and, Austin Ertelt in the Varsity Division from Algona High School.
