2008 TRIO NATIONAL DAY OF SERVICE READING EVENTS IN LOCAL SCHOOLS

In recognition of the TRiO National Day of Service, students and staff from Iowa Lakes Community College TRiO programs read in local elementary classrooms through the month of March. This project was in conjunction with the National Educational Association’s National Reading Month.

TRiO staff and current TRiO students teamed with local grade school classrooms to share a moment of reading as a way to show appreciation and to thank the community for its support of our TRiO Programs.

Reading time was shared in six school districts, including: Algona Public Schools, Emmetsburg Public Schools, Graettinger-Terril Community Schools, Sentral Community School District, Spencer Community School District and West Bend-Mallard Community Schools.
