EMMETSBURG CAMPUS STUDENT SENATE CO-PRESIDENTS
SELECTED
Two Iowa Lakes Community College sophomores have
been elected to serve as Co-Presidents of the
Emmetsburg Campus of Iowa Lakes for the
2008-2009 college year.
Ijeoma Nnebedum, St Paul, Minn., is a Nursing
major and Jenah Muhlbauer, Royal, is in the
Early Childhood Education program. They were both
involved in the Student Senate during the
2007-2008 year.
Nnebedum’s goals for the Student Senate during
the 2008-2009 year are to get more student input
for activities, do more joint work with other
campuses and improve communication with members.
She would also like to work with other campuses
on community service activities and social
activities within the student body.
Muhlbauer’s goals are to keep the Student Senate
group together and promote positive outcomes
throughout the college and community. She would
like to get a group together who can
communicate, be involved and want to have fun as
a club by participating and organizing several
events. Muhlbauer would also like to get
together with other campuses by first getting to
know them by going out to eat and then planning
some events with them.
Student senators plan campus activities
throughout the year; participate in a Leadership
Conference; and travel to Des Moines with other
community college student leaders to learn about
legislative processes.
