SPRING 2008 COMMENCEMENT EXERCISES ARE MAY 9

More than 400 students will graduate during commencement exercises Friday, May 9 at Iowa Lakes Community College.

The ceremony will start at 7 p.m. in the gymnasium at the Estherville Campus.

Keynote speakers this year are Sara Wielenga and LaRae Haugland. Wielanga is graduating with an Associate in Science degree in Business Administration and Management while Haugland has earned an Associate in Applied Science degree in Nursing.

Attendees will be welcomed by College President Harold Prior; John Hand, president of the Board of Trustees will acknowledge the Trustees; Mary Mohni, Chief Academic Officer, will lead the special recognition section with Ann Wimmer introducing the Presidential Scholars and Marian Brunsvold, Alumni Board President, presenting the Jim Hall Outstanding Alumnus Award; Kitty Conover, Dean of the Spencer campus, and Trudy Kattner, Dean of the Algona campus, will present the roll call of candidates; and Jan Lund, vice president of the Board of Trustees will confer the degrees and diplomas.

This will be the first year that the commencement exercises have been Webcast. Those who are unable to make the ceremony in person may still watch the event by logging onto the college Web site at www.iowalakes.edu and then clicking on Live Webcasts and following the directions.

After the ceremony, everyone is cordially invited to attend a reception to be held in the college 4-plex.
