OPEN HOUSE FOR NEW REGIONAL EMERGENCY CENTER
RESPONSE
TRAINING CENTER PLANNED
An open house will be held this Saturday at the
new Regional Emergency Response Training Center
at the Emmetsburg campus of Iowa Lakes Community
College.
The event will start in the student
center/cafeteria on the campus at 3 p. m.
Organizers will make a few comments at 3:30 p.
m. Following the ceremony – tours will be given
of that new facility, until 4:30 p. m.
The Regional Emergency Response Training Center
was built thanks to funding from the state of
Iowa. It will be used by area firefighters and
paramedics as a training facility which
simulates the risks emergency personnel face in
a fire.
The event is being held in conjunction with the
annual fire school and EMS conference at the
Emmetsburg campus. Some 200 fire and EMT
personals are attending two days of training
Saturday and Sunday to qualify for the
continuing education credits needed to maintain
official certifications.
