IOWA LAKES FOUNDATION – ‘OUR FUTURE IS SO BRIGHT’

During Oct. 1-12 Iowa Lakes Community College employees will have the opportunity to participate in the Iowa Lakes Foundation’s We Believe In Us Annual Giving Program benefiting Iowa Lakes Community College and its students.

During these two weeks, Foundation staff will visit each of the five campuses to begin the 10th annual effort of asking college employees to participate in the giving program that helps meet financial needs that exist beyond traditional funding sources. The theme for this year’s program is “Our Future is so BRIGHT.” Employees who attend any of the kick offs will have the opportunity to win door prizes that will be awarded at collegewide participant “Thank You Luncheons” on Monday, October 15.

The goal for the 2007-08 employee program is $53,000 and the Foundation hopes to have 100 percent participation from full-time employees.

“Last year we were very excited to have 86 percent participation of full-time employees and over 50 percent of part-time employees. We hope to do even better this year,” said Shan Ray, Iowa Lakes Institutional Advancement Executive Director. She continued, “Our employees raised over $50,000 last year to help our college and students!”

Once the support of the college employees is secured, the community phase of the “We Believe In Us” Annual Giving Program will be held after the first of the year and will involve community volunteers assisting the Foundation to seek pledges of support from individuals, businesses and alumni in the five county college district and beyond.
