CLAY COUNTY MERIT SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS ANNOUNCED

Iowa Lakes Community College has announced the 2007-08 recipients of the Clay County Merit Scholarship.

This scholarship is a direct result of funds raised at the annual Clay County Scholarship Golf Outing hosted by the Iowa Lakes Community College Foundation. Foundation staff, Iowa Lakes Spencer campus employees and volunteers from Clay County plan and run this event. Each year many community members and business leaders sponsor or attend the event.

Recipients are current residents of Clay County enrolled full time at any Iowa Lakes campus while possessing a 2.5 GPA. They have explained in their scholarship application how they have exhibited leadership potential, been an active participant in community betterment and will benefit from this educational opportunity.

This year’s recipients include Lucas Flaharty of Dickens; Jaclyn Fear, Nicole Paulsen of Spencer; Emily Geerdes of Everly; Bridget Gilmore of Sioux Rapids; Amanda Hansen of Royal; Katie Rowlands of Ruthven; and Tawny Smith of Webb.
