LAKERS SET
‘PERSONAL BEST’ RECORDS AT NATIONAL CROSS COUNTRY MEET
Both Iowa Lakes Community College students
who advanced to the National Junior College Athletic Association
Cross Country Championships Saturday experienced their career
best times.
Tyler Nolte, a freshman from Sherburn, Minn.,
ran the 8K race (5 miles) in 31:02. He finished 235th
out of 261 runners. Candace Klepper, a freshman from Terril,
was 154th out of 235 women runners with her time of
20:57 in the women’s 5K race (3.1 miles). Both races were held
at the Rend Lake Golf Course in Whittington, Ill. The event was
hosted by Rend Lake Community College.
“They both set personal best times at this
meet which is a great way to end the season and helps motivate
them for next season,” said Molly Struve, head cross country
coach.
This was the fifth season Iowa Lakes cross
country students have competed nationally.
