VESTAS WIND SCHOLARSHIP AWARDED AT IOWA LAKES

Iowa Lakes Community College is announcing the awarding of the 2007-08 Vestas Wind Scholarship. This year’s recipients are Mark Bethke of Hartley; Terry Laven of Shoreview, Minn.; Daniel Miller of Estherville; and Jeff Stone of Sac City.

Vestas American Wind Technology has partnered with the college over the past few years in the ongoing progress of developing the Wind Energy & Turbine Technology program at Iowa Lakes Community College. In turn, Iowa Lakes has proven to be a leader in educational training in the wind technology field. In an effort to solidify this partnership, Vestas established the Vestas Wind Scholarship.

Eligible candidates for this scholarship must be enrolled full time in the Wind Energy & Turbine Technology program at Iowa Lakes Community College and exhibit academic excellence by having achieved and maintain a 3.0 GPA. This award must be used for tuition, books and/or fees and candidates must display financial need as shown by the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
