FOUR LAKER
WOMEN EARN ALL-REGION HONORS
The Iowa Lakes Community College volleyball
team claimed half of the spots on the Region XI All-Region first
team. Arah Kleinschmidt, Liz Miller, and Aurialis Camareno
earned first team honors, while Jenna Tammel was selected to
second team all-region.
Kleinschmidt, a sophomore setter from
Oronoco, Minn., led the Lakers and the league in assists per
game with 11. Miller, a sophomore outside hitter from St.
Charles, Minn., led the Lakers in kills with 542. Camareno, a
freshman from Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, led the team with 114 aces
and 741 digs this year. Tammel, a sophomore hitter from Spring
Valley, Minn., had 479 digs on the year. The entire tournament
team is as follows:
First team all-region:
Arah Kleinschmidt, Iowa Lakes;
Liz Miller, Iowa Lakes;
Aurialis Camareno, Iowa Lakes;
Jessica Lopez, Marshalltown;
Morgan Brown, Iowa Central; and,
Hailey Beneke, Iowa Central.
Second team all-region:
Jenna Tammel, Iowa Lakes;
Sarah Geist, Marshalltown;
Channing Merchant, Marshalltown;
Sydni Fenner, Ellsworth;
Katelyn Early, Ellsworth; and,
Sarah Heinman, NIACC.
Iowa Lakes will advance to the National
Volleyball Tournament November 15 - 18 in Scottsdale, Ariz.
