Iowa Lakes Community College has awarded the 2007-08 Harold & Joyce Prior Education Scholarship to Jenica Arends, Robyn Mitchell and Lacey Claypool of Estherville; Tawny Smith of Webb; and Sarah Subbert of Graettinger.

Iowa Lakes Community College President Dr. Harold Prior and his wife Joyce established this scholarship in 2006 to promote the teaching profession. Applicants must be residents of Clay, Dickinson, Emmet, Kossuth or Palo Alto counties; full-time students attending any Iowa Lakes campus and be planning to transfer to a four-year institution to achieve their teaching degree. Recipients must have completed 30 credit hours at Iowa Lakes, display unmet financial need as determined by the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) form results and use the award for tuition, books and/or fees.
