Iowa Lakes Community College has awarded the 2007-08 Norma Newhouse Memorial Scholarship to Julie Johnson of Spencer.

The Newhouse family established this scholarship in her memory. Norma worked at the Emmetsburg Care Center for over 23 years, until the time of her death, as a Certified Nurse Assistant. She greatly valued higher education and believed in quality care for all citizens. Qualified candidates for this scholarship are second year, full-time, nontraditional students in the Iowa Lakes Community College Associate Degree Nursing program.
