IOWA LAKES COMMUNITY COLLEGE AWARDS LEONARD MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Iowa Lakes Community College has awarded the 2007-08 Gene Leonard Memorial Scholarship.

This year’s recipients are Brittany Gunderson and Andrews Jacobs of Cylinder; Tony Brownell, Danielle Carrigan, Nacole Darling, Kyle Dupic, Roxanne Headly, Kristi Hoffert, Nathan Hovinga, Molly Hurley, Justin Johnson, Nathan Kliegl, Jack Lapczenski, Matthew Lowman, Chealsea Schroeder, Max Sikora, Stephanie Smith, Michael Snoderly, Cody Soenen, Jeremy Wickman, Emma Williams and Kristina Williams of Emmetsburg.

Students from Estherville receiving the scholarship include: Cassie Albertson, Matthew Ault, Charissa Blinkmann, Zach Burtis, Eric Christiansen, Darin Clabaugh, Aaron Dahl, Elizabeth Erickson, Laura Inman, Jill Jensen, Kyle Koenecke, Sarah Lutz, Robyn Mitchell, Joey Moorberg, Cody Newgard, Trent Prather, Nicoler Radmaker, Jennifer Reetz, Austin Schmaus, Paula Shryock, Kyle Smith, Andy Soper, MaryAnn Thaemlitz, Matt Watt and Chris Zimmerman. Others awarded the scholarship: Alison Buechler, Mike Dalen, Jared Enderton, Courtney Hanson, Chris Harris, Alex Helmich, Sarah Hunefeld, Jacob Masters, Brandon Murray, Cierra Nelson, Kim Petrich and Megan Schaller of Graettinger; Alexandra Brown, Bill Geelan, Monica Rosacker, Jennifer Sampson, Lance Scott, Nicole Suhr, Amy Sundall, Tammi Widener, Brittany Williamson of Ruthven; and Alyssa Lundgren, Amanda Nitchals and Jeri VanPatten of Wallingford.

The Gene Leonard Memorial Scholarship is funded by a trust to provide financial assistance to northwest Palo Alto County and southwest Emmet County students planning to attend Iowa Lakes Community College or any other college. Gene’s love for people and desire to make a difference in young people’s lives was his motivation to make scholarships available to students in the area of his residence.
